Am I stupid to think anyone would be interested in loaning my mare? She is 7 months post colic surgery and is ready to come back into work properly now. I just don't have the time to put into her. So as well as being post colic surgery she isn't the easiest of horses to ride (she is getting a lot better and is never nasty - just lacks confidence), has bad feet but on the plus side she is a very beautiful horse, hasn't got a bad bone in her and is quite calm at competitions.

I'm obviously a bit worried about getting someone with the experience and patience for her.

So stupid idea or not?

I dont think it is stupid possibly put notices up in local saddlery plus put feelers out through friends etc that way you are more likely to get someone who you can trust.
I dont think people run at the thought of colic surgery now it happens so much more often these days.
Good luck
