Loan regrets

what would you do , I put my mare out on loan earlier this year after much soul searching I’ve owned her for 12 years and I decided she now needed to just be a happy hacker , i thought I had found the perfect person and I allowed her to leave my yard , I recently visited her she was a little overweight but nothing drastic but her CPL which I had managed really well had started to return ( just a few ridges reappeared) the lady and her yard friend were blatantly whispering about me being there which I tried to ignore and I just advised her to keep an eye on the ridges , now discovering that the lady hacks out on the horse in just a woolly hat , this bothers me , I know I’m not liable if something happens but I still feel responsible, I did do a loan agreement with a 14 days termination agreed , I would actually love to have the horse back but feel mean taking her away , am I too soft , I won’t ever be loaning again !!

Yep take her back. You don't owe these people a horse! You don't even need to say you are unhappy with anything - just that you miss her and have reconised you want her back with you. So you are very sorry but you no longer want her out on loan to anyone.

If you want her back, then take her back. It's not complicated - she's your horse and that's one of the drawbacks of having a horse on loan. I'd also want to get on top of the CPL before anything worse develops.

Agree just go and get her and the fact they are whispering behind your back and making you feel like you don't have a right to visit would be enough for me, I would just get transport this weekend and just turn up its a bloody cheek.
