Loaners / Sharers Question

If you broke something that belonged to the owner of the horse and you replaced it, would that item be going with the horse when the loan was up or would you keep it?

There is no contract by the way (please don't shout at me!!) and the item in question is a bridle.....

It would go with the owner, seeing as it is a replacement for something you broke.

Although, I suppose it depends on how it broke? Whether it was because it was old, or something.

Just IMO.

Thanks guys. Good point - I don't know how it broke actually? It was a good bridle but I'd had it a while and on one of visits I noticed she had a new one and was told the old one broke.

I personally would send (or want sent) the new one with the horse as a replacement. Unless they were able to have the orginal fixed (ie the stitching).

if your pony went on loan with a bridle it should come back with one of similar quality,i think.

there was a post on here a while ago about rugs that had completely worn out just from use, dont know what happened in that case.

i have had ponies on loan in the past and have always used my own stuff and not wanted the owners things.

Stay with the horse, I had to replace an expensive pair of boots (I left them within reach of horse's teeth, tch!) and wouldn't dream of calling them mine now.

I have horse on loan and a lot of the time I don't use what came with the horse, unless there is a specific need for it, I just put it away and use my own stuff, so I don't need to worry, if the horse goes back it goes with the stuff it came with, in exactly the same condition as it arrived
