well a really nice lady at my yard has offered the chance for me to look after her 14.2 (stunning) welsh pony twice a week (or more if i want) after my mare goes on monday. so i agreed to this as it would be really good fun as the pony is so sweet and hopefully will bring my confidence back but told her it would only be until Sept as i may be off to uni.

so then the lady has now been thinking about moving to france or spain some time soon with intention to bring pony over once they are settled. she has asked me could i have him for 2 months or there abouts. i have said yes but am not willing to take on the full finances but have said that i could poss pay for bedding and feed to try and meet her half way bearing in mind that i really need to save for uni. do you think this is fair? the other thing im worried about is what if it comes to august and she is away and i still have said pony? if it were you would you maybe draw up some sort of contract just so i dont get stuck with this pony and end up paying all the finances?

she is a very nice and genuine lady but i dont know her that well. opinions please xxx

Get it all in writing, that way you both know what is expected and what the time scale and financial responsibilities are.

You both need to be clear what you are entering into, before you say yes to anything.

Contract goes without saying! Definitely get the agreement drawn up in writing. You are both covered then and will be sure of who is responsible for what.

For your own safety, get a contract and include absolutely everything. I speak from bitter experience and had to use the contract in proving some rather extravagant lies!
