Why can't I find anyone who I like or who wants my pony for what he can do?!?

The people who want to do what he wants to do aren't suitable when they come (or I don't like them!), and the people who are nice want a competition JA type pony.

And why aren't people honest over the phone?! Had someone come who was nothing like she said she was on the phone. Grrr

I have a lovely pony who wants to do local shows, fun rides, bit of hunting, hacking, some dressage, bit of SJ and XC and generally have fun. Why doesn't anyone want him!!!

You'll find someone, give it time!!!
He's only been properly advertised for about a week hasn't he?

Blumming infuriating getting the timewasters though I do agree!

would be worth advertising in the free yellow paper (adtrader) and also local PC and RC websites/newsletters

Flippin heck

You would have people fighting over him were I am from

Only thing to suggest is to try and go into a viewing really positivly and always try to see the good side of people - its so easy to instantly hate someone - After the viewing write a list of all the things you liked about them and didnt like and see if that makes a difference?

How big is he?

You will find him a great home eventually - he is obviously very dear to you if you are taking the time to get him a good home !!!

Good luck!!!

i would have him if i didnt have my own horse like that! we're enjoying doing local stuff and XC and SJ when its not bloody raining!
im surprised that nobody has snapped him up as he sounds like a sought after horse, the right person will turn up sooner or later, good luck!!! xxx

Arrh bless - I'd loan him if I was nearer!

I loan the horsey I have now - have had him 17 months. He's 26 and can only do light schooling and hacking and I love him too bits.

Don't give up - the right person is out there somewhere! My horses owner didn't think she's get anyone to loan him at his age and with the fact he can only do light work but then our paths crossed and there begins the tale!

Keep looking and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you find someone suitable soon!

I know, we had the same when we sold our 1st pony several years ago. He was the best 1st pony ever, a 13.1 sec c so suitable for any child or a small adult. He was perfect in all respects apart from the fact that he could only jump about 2ft3 (well he would go higher but not consistently), you wouldnt think that would be a concern for nervous novice riders! keep trying though. The right person will come along in the end.

He's on the Garth South and V&C. had a call from someone from the Garth South actually this morning and although she was lovely, her daughter needs a bigger horse with more scope really. Shame as they were lovely!

The other thing i'm finding is that people are quite distrusting of you - they really do think the horse is a nutcase that no one can ride if you're putting it on loan! Surely I'd be selling to get shot of it if that were the case?!

If only you lived in Scotland! I'd love to have a pony to just have a bit of fun on - hacking, schooling, perhaps even a bit of jumping or shows if I feel brave enough

Oh - is it that nice 14'1 chesnut on Garth? I'm looking to loan and want something that can live near me in Cliddesden (Basingstoke).... I'm 5'7 and weigh 9.5 stone.

dont worry chestnut - im in the same neck of the woods as you and I too was trying to loan my mare...I only had 4 calls about her and someone did say, ' WOW you must of had loads of calls about her, she sounds great' so to be honest I do feel there is a lack of people looking at the moment...
I eventually loaned her out to a family close by, but to someone who has a young boy who I didnt think she would be appropriate for...it works out she is doing ok and the lady has her on loan with view to buy in a months time so I am hoping she behaves herself...
Last time I loaned her I went through 8 people - none of them were right in some way or the other and then finally just as I was about to give up someone came along who was perfect...
Dont give up - my mare was up for loan for 7 weeks before I found the right person...
hang in there..someone will be out there...
