My daughter's event pony has to be retired due to DJD. We're actually quite pleased about this because for a while we thought he may have needed to be pts........

Anyway - a person at my yard has been trying him and has decided she will take him. She's OK and he only needs to hack anyway so what's my problem?

I had another person trying him this evening, and I kind of prefer her, but I said this morning to the 1st person that I would sort out the contracts over the weekend. She was sooooo excited and hugged me and was almost in tears.

I think I know that morally I have to let my boy go to the 1st person - I just wish the 2nd person hadn't turned up.....!

Hope this makes sense...it's a bit late on a Friday to really be asking this sort of thing, but what would you do?

I would go with the person that is the most suitable for the pony. As horrible as it seems to disappoint the first person but I would make a polite excuse if the other one was more suited. Maybe the first one could have an occasional ride or maybe share the pony?

I would have to go with the first person as long as she is capable of looking after your pony well.
You don't say why you like the second person more - is it her personality or do you think she will look after your pony much better?
I don't envy your dilemma. Good luck.
