Loaning / Sharing.

Hi,
I currently am looking for some loaners for some of my horses due to my pregnancy but, i keep having people enquire about sharing...
Now....
I always thought - that loaning was where i own the horse, and someone looks after the said horse for a set amount of days, and pays towards the keep of the horse which we agree at the start of the loan.
and i thought that sharing was that - sharing the horse, ie not only the cost but also the ownership of the horse.
have i got this correct? Years ago you never really saw adverts for shares - only loans so is this just a new term that people are using inplace of loaning???
 
To me, a loan is where you remain the owner of the horse, but someone else takes full responsibility of the horses costs, care etc. Horse would be stabled at yard of loaners choice.

A sharer does set days a week and shares costs, but you are there in overall charge.

Loaning is normally when the horse remains the property of you, but the loanee has responsibility for the horses day to day keep. The horse can either be kept at your yard or away with the loanee. Loanee normally pays for everything unless otherwise sorted out before the contract starts. Loanee has horse as if it's their own.

Sharing is normall when the horse remains at your yard and the sharere will pay a contribution towards the keep of the horse. Set days will normally be organised between the two of you. You remain the owner of the horse and the sharer has less say in what happens with the horse.

However, this is only as I see it, someone else might come along and prove me wrong! Pity you're such a way away, I'm looking for something to loan, what have you got?!
 
mmm - i was always used to full and part loan. full loan being where they pay all cost, do 7 days a week etc and part whereby we agree set days etc.
i have a few lol - the main ones i need some help with are a 11year old 16.2 ISH dallpled grey mare, a 16.1 aged Han. X Arab and i also have my shetland

my other horses are pretty much all retired now so doubt anyone will be wanting them - but as i have quite a few horses - i will be at the yard daily (i hope!) but the other really do need riding.
 
It sounds to me that what you're looking for is a sharer - someone to do a set amount of days and pay towards upkeep, which is the same as part loan.

A full loan is what I now have, the horse is on my yard, I pay all bills, am responsibe day to day for it but I don't own it.
