Loaning - who has the passport?

When a horse is out on full loan, who keeps hold of the passport? The owner or Loaner?

Loanee - the passport must stay with the horse.

Technically the loaner should (for travelling especially) but owners need to make sure the passport company knows the horse is out on loan.

Photocopy the passport so that you have a copy of it.

I've had two loans, the first I got the passport, the second a got a photocopy of the passport.

Mines on loan but I don't have the passport, not needed it yet we're not travelling until next year but I'm asking for it for her vaccinations. I suppose you should have it but it depends on what you do.

This ^^^ my chaps passport had a section to differentiate keeper (loanee) from owner.

Ditto this basically! For your own peace of mind and reassurance should it go missing whilst the horse is on loan.
