So decided to nip off to Longford RC, take very green horse with me and do the Pre-Nov Show Jumping
(Begineers) (years since I have jumped in a begineers class) and Novice Show Jumping.....Also meet up with StinkerStonkersMum....
Anyway arrived at lunchtime and they had still got couple of pony jumping classes to go, so watched SSM in her Hunter Class and she looked as lovely as ever and did very well indeed.
Then off I toddled to have a look at the course, it was ok apart from the turn from 3 to 4, it was a little on the tight side, but nice and inviting and no horrid fillers, so Spur warmed up ok, seemed a little lazy, but jumped practise fence ok and then away we went into the ring, well I've never had to work so hard, she was spooking at everything, sheeps wool on the floor, different coloured grass, it was funny really anyway bell went and off we went, 1 and 2 easy, 3 slightly down hill and she jumped it massive, no chance of getting the turn for 4 (double) so thought I would just do a nice circle and incur 4 faults instead of upsetting her, finished the course lovely, so was please with her. Only concern I had was that she sweated up alot and she's not normally a sweaty girl.
So on to the Novice and out came all the fillers, number 1 was the same, nothing horrid, but number 2 had a filler like a house, then they had put some black and yellow arches in at number 8, all rather colourful, so in I goes and Spur jumped 1 lovely if not a little on the big side, so then got my legs on her for 2 and whoa, she spotted the fillers and wouldn't go near them, she wouldn't even sniff at them, so there ended my round, I popped the blue and white wall on the way out and she jumped it about 4' above, bless her. So OH is going to build me a scary filler at home....... All in all not a bad day, pleased with the first round, just a shame about her second round. Also noticed was alot of non beginners horses in the first class, only myself and another horse appeared to be true beginners......
Anyway girl went home and chilled in the field......... and I chilled with a bottle of wine....
