Hi all,
I'm hoping to go to a local show in a couple of weeks and do the small jumping class to give both me and my mare some confidence and to have some fun!
We haven't done much jumping before as i'm a wuss and my girls from an endurance background.
Anyway, the class is run under the same rules as for BS jumping and under table A. Can someone explain to me what some of the rules are please? I understand that if you go clear in the first round you go through to the jump off. Would we be able to trot around if that's all i'm happy with on the day? I understand it won't do us any favours to plod around in the jump off if we made it through but it's mainly for experience.
Any tips or advice gratefully received!

Rules are fairly simple, don't have one down :), Don't have a refusal :), Don't circle or cross your path :), & above all don't fall off :).

All those are 4 faults each apart from the fall off which is elimination. Two refusals are also an elimination.

You will be able to trot around at a local show I would imagine however if it was truly run under BSJA rules there is a set time in which to do the course & then you would incur time penalties.

Most of all just have fun, aftr all that's what it's all about really....Good Luck. ;)
