I know this is a long shot but worth a try. I recently bought a rice trailer and need to replace one of the brakes on it as all the other are fine. Only need the brake expander but struggling to find one. Does anyone know where the best place to get one would be. Would save me a fortune if I could get hold of one. If not it means replacing both axles at a small fortune. Would be will to pay over the odd for it if it saves me £1200

If you have the original, and all the parts you might find an engineering shop who can repair it or make a new bit.
Even castings can be re-cast or welded if you can find a guy with the right skills.

If not, you just replace the backplates and brakes, not the whole axle. Give Trailertek a ring. If they cant help, no one can

Oh that is great if I can that should save a small fortune.

Actually, I've just remembered I have some parts from an old set of Lockheed brakes. If you send me a photo of what you need I'll have a look in the shed see if I can find one for you. No promises, but there's all sorts of springs and pads in there. Failing that I've got a set of 4 backplates and brakes to upgrade lockheed brakes. I'd forgotten about those as well!

Oh wow that would be amazing. That part which I am looking for is everything that makes up parts 1 & 2 on the diagram. If not the backplates and brakes would be amazing. Do you know of the size?00EA8700-8BE7-4DC8-9D22-69F2D979879A.jpg
