Unfortunately Nutmeg has now had 2 bad attacks of this stifle issue in the last 2 months.
We are starting her on an exercise strengthening program and getting her regular physio, but the vet today did say that the surgery might be the best option if this continues to happen.

Has anyone had it done? She’s an 11hh companion pony, 8 years, unridden. Just needs to be comfortable to live the life of riley and enjoy normal pony life.

I haven’t, but a friend of mine had a youngster with it and had the surgery as a youngster. She’s now 17 and lived a very normal life as a working hunter pony

Did your pony have the surgery? Just interested in recovery as following sticky stifle issues which hasnt resolved following months of inhand hill walking & raised pole work, pony had work up & Stifle XRays for 3rd time & is now booked for keyhole procedure to assess what else is happening & possibly carry out ligament surgery whereby its sliced to form scar tissue to prevent sticking.

Not yet. The plan with the vets was to try and get through to this spring/summer and then if no better, go ahead with the procedure.
Hoping to get it done in the next month or so.

I know one who had both done at separate times (sometimes fixing one means it shows up in the other) full and total recovery post op.
