Hi

Looking at youngster that has quite a few Lockstock stallions in his lineage. Not overly familair with these stallions ... any comments would be appreciated.

many thanks

Hi there,

We bought a mare recently (although had her on loan a year) by Lostock Peregrine, she's quite a nice type.. she's 9 but very green, we bought her for my fiance (Who had a 10 year break from riding), he's hunted her the whole season and she's proved fairly solid to be honest. Not much we can't do with her, this being said, the owners before last described her as "quirky"... which i suppose she can be but no nastiness in there at all and she really is a trier :). Performance wise. she has cracking paces and has picked up schooling fairly quickly and she has a cracking jump somewhere in there but sometimes the excitement ruins it! :) We wouldn't swap her for the world though, she's very sweet!

That sounds positive ... wondered about temperment and which discipline off spring tend to do well in .... looking at youngster with eventing in mind ... RC level , novice at most .. too old and not very brave anymore !

I can't comment on offspring, but I had the pleasure of working for a lady who once owned Lostock Ladiesman who was a complete and utter gentleman and was actually stabled next to a mare. Lovely horse :)
