:) Lola is doing brilliantly. Im so pleased at how quick shes grasped which toys are hers and not the babies!, and toilet training!! My baby and Lola dont see any difference species i'm sure, but she is the most gentle kind dog iv ever met!!

only problems are :-
1) she eats her own poo if you dont catch her in time =/ .. ??
2) she really hates being left alone, which is sometimes inevitable :( .. what can i do to make it easier?

She looks lovely!!

Re the poo, there is nothing you can do about that. No one knows why they do it (various deficiency theories have never been proven) so the best thing is to ignore her.

Re leaving her alone: does she have a crate? If she doesn't introduce her to a crate slowly and when she is ready leave her in there with a really interesting chew. A lot of dogs feel more secure in a crate and the chew keeps them busy. They also can't damage the house while you are away. A Dap collar/difuser can also help with stress problems,

thankyou she is lovely :) ohh well aslong as it's not a deficiency I suppose thats alright =/ lol

yes shes got a crate, we eed her in it and just pop her in through the day so she doesnt associate it with being alone ... weve had her nearly two weeks now and still hates it if we go upstairs without her! shes in our bedroom at night... which i suppose might make it worse?

Well it depends how you feel about it. I have 4 dogs who will all get up and follow me when I move rooms, they will sleep in my bedroom or in the corridor outside, etc. so they are always with me (not so much with OH). However, not one of them is destructive, aggressive or sickly when I am not there, even when I am away for holidays so for me this is not problematic behaviour. If you don't mind her shadowing you and she is not upset when she is alone (e.g. destroying the house, howling, harming herself) then it wouldn't bother me.

following is a slight problem as she isn't allowed in the babys room. she does get upset when shes left and howls and cries :(even if I'm in the shower!! sleeping in the bedroom is fine :)

eta - perhaps im expecting too much too soon. she was passed about in her very early days...

Re the poo, you just have to catch them in time, make some sort of noise like 'ah!' or something and when they are distracted, give a treat or toy and praise.
You could go out with her and keep a line on her in the garden and give her a little tug if she heads towards the poo.
It can take a while.
My fella has *finally* started to notice sheep poo, think, hmmm, what happens when I eat this again? I get told off, if I don't I get food....and then just come up to me and headbutt me for a treat instead :p
When my pup was settling in, if I was going to leave the room for a long period (he was never in my room, just the living room) I would chuck him something lo cal like a frozen carrot or a pigs ear and leave a telly or radio on so that he didn't even notice I was gone.
Re the bedroom, this is just a personal thing but it is making a rod for your own back, if you want to eventually move her out of there or have to go on holiday or stay away overnight etc x

haha oh nooo, she hasn't been to the yard yet! I hope she doesnt notice sheep or equine poo!! we just say oi and then move the poo so she can't munch on it.. I was just worried it may be a sign of a deficiency

The pooh scoffing as suggested is a dirty dog thing lol....if she is a good eater, scrans all her dinner up then the pooper is just extra warm hearty food (yack):p
Re leaving her, its ok to have her in your room at night but would be best if she was crated in your room, as if she is not and then u crate her downstairs this could be the issue, I would suggest crate no 2 for bedroom, always cover it fully with a blanket, and always cover the down stairs one with a blanket so she struggles to tell the difference between the 2.
Then gradually get her down stairs if you want that, if not keep using both crates till she is a bit older and can come out of them both.
Try not to allow her to follow you everywhere, always have time out, as CC suggests, a long lasting goodies after a good tear arse about to tire her, then as you would with you baby (time out) in crate, cover over and door closed (as in on the room she is in) and leave the radio on.
Also on a night when watching tv it wont hurt to place her in for periods so she can still see you and is in the room but in the crate.
I have a pup here in the living room crated, the reason is, I dont want him to think when im in he is always around my feet, he has to be in his crate and he is not panicking cos he can see me.

im doing all this except for covering her crate which i shall try! shes fine at night in it aslong as were there and through the day she goes in when were playing on the floor or when were eating etc and shes fine. its just when shes left she cant stand it! i shall perservere though :) im sure it will come with patience! thankyou for all your advice :)

A good thick cover then for crates, the trick here is that she wont beable to distinguish which crate or where u are with her view blocked and it will help her settle and quieten down without the distraction of being able to peep out:) radio on would help to to drown out your movements.

Was going to suggest leaving the radio on but CAYLA is such a smarty pants she got there first! And was going to impart my knowledge of poo eating but she got there first too :(

She's dead cute btw..........no not CAYLA, the pup :)
