I like the fact they've weeded out people using this as a warm up for Sunday, and doing a round or 2 then withdrawing was very unsatisfactory watching on tv never mind paying to see half of them drop out

How come they take away the first jump after the first round? Just to save the horse? If so why do they have it in the first round?

Yes. And Kingfisher just jumps from any old stride and makes it look easy.
