London International Horse Show (Olympia) 2024

We went last night for the puissance. Glad Rachel won as she rode beautifully, she’s definitely one to watch!

Sadly got stuck at work so didn’t get the chance to do any shopping. New pony needs a fair bit and I still need to pick out a bridle and breastplate! Back on Sunday so will shop then but does anyone know why they’ve dropped the evening performance on Sunday? the shopping village closes an hour after the afternoon performance so will have to be very dynamic in the morning so I can shop before afternoon performance 😂

They also seem to have dropped the second dis play as well. The schedule is a bit weird this year!
 
I read that they are finishing early because the last day is nearer to Christmas than usual and hoping the riders can get home especially those from abroad.
 
They didn’t do the finale on the dressage to music last year either, it finishes so late I think it wouldn’t be feasible. Hopefully they’ll do it Saturday afternoon that’s when we are there
 
Anyone who has been, what is their bag policy? Can't find anything on the website and we're on the train there and back so I want to take a backpack ideally.
 
I'm a bit annoyed at their program for tomorrow. When I booked It looked like we got a bonus jumping class on the afternoon session so I booked a late train back. Now they've altered it to say that session is for evening ticket holders.

Oh well, shopping and pub time. Might go and have a proper meal afterward.

I went yesterday afternoon and had a reasonable size jute bag with me with drinks and snacks in. There is a bag search area on the way in, but couldn't see any restrictions listed either there or on the LIHS website. Have fun :)
 
You can have rucksacks etc they also have a bag storage area if you don’t want to carry it around all day. That’s want ill do I think…
 
Ffs, if anyone is going tomorrow afternoon I have JUST had an email from them saying they are moving the timetable forward.

Its only 15 minutes but we are only getting there 15 mins before it starts (trains willing) so now will be late. That is so bad.
 
It’s bonkers they have made it this week as it’s usually the week before, it’s too close to Christmas for sure! Hotels etc are all more expensive and the trains will be interesting….🤨

No idea why they moved it this late
 
Are Geneva and LIHS always so close? I'm sure I saw that advertised on H&C just days ago.I suppose the other possibility is that Excel had other stuff on - I know the space is shared with other exhibits during the show.

Be interesting to see what the 2025 dates are.

Thank you! I hadn't seen the email come in earlier.

I was hoping to see the Services jumping from the schedule when I booked the tickets - no such luck, it seems!

Google is saying 17-22nd December 2025 but how true that is I don’t know!

They had one yesterday morning too, seem to be having a fair few power issues this year.

Geneva is already in calendar for same dates next year ends 14th Dec.
 
The dates will be dictated by the FEI calendar- if they want to keep their 5* status and World Cup Qualifiers then they have to go by that
 
FRIDAY TV TIMES. 15:50 till 18:50 world cup dressage. ------------ 18:50 till 22:30 whole of evening performances see #36 for TV channel numbers. Evening should have jockey showjumping, dog agility, Lorenzo display, shetland grand national, and grand prix showjumping.

The world cup is on Sunday, this evening is the London Grand Prix.

Not deigned to make you feel the safest 😂

Watching the jockeys jumping - a lot of fences falling. We used to do a class at a show near us where rider would jump own horse, hand over to a jockey and there was a large joker wall. Used to be a great laugh. Finished every where but first.

Harry Cobden’s horse is lovely
