London International horse show

I like that Andy gives their breeding- he is hugely knowledgeable about breeding and offers interesting snippets on type. I am, however, a geek and I do appreciate that kind of thing! There are other things about the man I do not find quite so appealing.

I don’t mind being told about the breeding but it was just over the top about that horse

Not really applicable as all online today but imagine writing John Whitaker’s horse’s name on an entry form. Need a lot of space and ink. My 14.2 jumping pony have a five barrelled name. For BSJA as it was then we just used the stud name and Cavalier from his longer name.

I really enjoyed WW's presenting!

I wish Andy Austin would quit, I find him insufferable. He's always yapping on about someones 'Little hackamore', 'Simple snaffle', as if he's never seen a horse ridden in anything other than 20 different bits of kit.
I'm still pondering his comment that a horse was wearing a big bridle? Is this to persuade the public masses that the horse in question has a large head? I think not.

Her husband (?) Was probably thinking oh its worth getting dragged along to the horses after all 😂

I heard them say "tickets" not sure if its hotels etc too or just flights
Yeah he looked happy! I think they guessed something to do with turkish airlines. They tried their best haha

Gutted John is out of the jump off

We went today & had a lovely time.

We got Champagne bar tickets & the service was great as always. Didn't think the food was badly priced at all - lunch for 2 including alcoholic drinks was about £60.

I actually really liked the Hungarian display - I didn't love the driving (although the baddie giving the middle finger was hilarious 🤣) but thought the dressage part was v.good. It was lovely to see relaxed, chilled horse's doing GP and high school movements. I think one of the horse's was supposed to do more but thought they handled it really sympathetically, if that was the case.

I've seen more outwardly entertaining acts - like the Police horse's jumping through fire - but it was a lovely watch nonetheless.

Thought the shopping was a better mix of horse stalls vs lifestyle stalls than it was in previous years. Managed to buy what I planned - riding tights & a headband - plus some horse & dog treats and Christmas decorations.Could have spent far more 🤣

Really friendly volunteers as always.

All in all, it's still one of my favourite parts of Christmas & will definitely be back next year.

Looking forward to hopefully watching the jockey class, amyone know what time it starts?

From TikTok I think its very, very expensive to have a stall there, and a lot of the small to medium businesses were costing it up and just didn't think they could make it work financially. Such a shame. I didn't end up going this year, which is just as well as knowing me I'd probably have ended up buying a stable block 😄

Yes, I saw similiar. I really missed having Cool Riding Horse socks there as normally have a Christmas stock up but completely understand the cost element of having a stall there and staff in central London the week before/of Christmas.

I did see a post from someone saying it was a bit bit too late for them to rely on Christmas shopping which makes sense too.
