Long and Low

Does anyone have any advise on working long and low?

Have worked horses long and low before, but looking for other ideas, (I'm recovering from a broken leg) so it will mainly be lunging work,

What do you do to courage this? Thanks

Hi, there have been a few posts in CR about lunging using only draw reins. Search under Kerelli (sp?) posts x Have used the method on my horse and it works great!!

I use a pessoa which I find is brilliant. Teaches horse to bring hocks underneath and stretch over his back I wouldnt be without

I agree with sydneys mum pessoas are brilliant i use one on my horses and you can set them to how u want it and how u want there head carriage it also makes the horse work properly

^This! I've used a Pessoa and this and much prefer the draw reins. Put them over the back, inbetween the front legs and clip onto the bit, like so:

Works fantastically and alot of horses prefer this to the Pessoa as it is less restricting, hope this helps
