I'm just wondering what the advantage of having long dressage boots with reinforced sides (hard shank along side of the calf) is?
I've always had soft boots due to surgery I've had, but a lot people at my yard have these really hard boots. I'm just wondering what purpose it serves as it is against a part of the leg that doesn't move.
I'll be looking to replace my current boots soon and just wondered if there is any benefit to having the hard boots over softer ones.
