Hi all,

Between the Rhinegold Elite Luxus or Shires Moretta Gianna, which would people recommend more for hunting?

Wondering if anyone has any personal experience with these particular boots?

Thanks

I have the Gianna, they have loads of size options which means I can actually have a pair of boots that fit me well! They get used most days - I don't hunt but I am an active rider - they don't receive much TLC but for the price I'm happy with how they've lasted and I have a new pair in the loft (bought on Black Friday) ready for when these ones inevitably die.

I have Shires short boots and they are on their 3rd year and I ride 5-6 times a week. Their country boots have lasted a good few years too. My short boots are beginning to show signs this will be their last winter but they've out lasted their previous Ariat counterparts.

I've been v.impressed by the durability of all Shires stuff - I certainly don't look after my boots like I should either 🤣 They are doing well to be treated to a rinse off under the tap, let alone an actual clean.

Devils advocate you get what you pay for. I've got mountain horse aurora bought march 2023, for £160 ish ride 4 times a week always polish up good for showing after being absolutely coated in mud, leather balm them once a month and repolish every couple, still going strong 3 years later !

Agree re. Mountain Horse. Their quality is great even under heavy use, mud, water, general abuse and neglect :)

I would go with Shires over Rhinegold everytime. Shires usauly last a good few years but Rhinegold would last half the time IMO. Mountain Horse is better again so if thats an option go with them.

I’ve got a pair of Morettas (not the same style), and they’ve been going for a few years and still look/feel great. I do however only wear them for riding - put them on before I tack up and off again when putting tack away.

I got the Rhinegold for an economical long boot to try. They have only been worn in the house a few times to break in, but they're comfy & rather smart looking.

I've got the Moretta Gianna, and think they are fantastic for the money. I only used them for competing and lessons, but they fit well, are really comfy, and looked very smart. I only stopped using them because I lost weight, and went back to my chaps and short boots.
