I have a fairly cheap pair of Regent Graftons at the moment but they are only going to last a few more months I think. Was advised to get some Konigs but as much as I would love to my finances do not permit, so any suggestions for some nice smart boots. I am 5ft2 so styles that come up very long wouldn't be too good.

I have the same boots as you, and they are good for people with small legs like us!
My legs are not long, and I have touble finding leather boots, that do not pinch at the back of my knee, or end up not being able to bend my knee.

I have these at the moment, and you would never know they were not leather

And they are £34 Bargin

As they are not leather, it helps with the bending in the knee (Well behind the knee!!)

Those look pretty good for every day use but would like something a little smarter for show. I don't mind spending around £250 or a little more but can't extend to £500/£600.

I have regents and they are ohhh let me think ...... 9 years old now and still going strong. i have

had to have elsatic inserts put in the insides though as I am heavier nwo than I was then.

Well maybe mine have quite a bit more life left in them yet then! Looks like I might just go for another pair if mine start to look too shabby for shows, I have been impressed by them so far.
