Sorry I know this has been done before but I can't find the posts.
I have very muscley (ok porky) calves and struggle like heck to find long boots to fit. I've been riding in short boots with chaps but hate it - I much prefer long.
Ditto long "yard" boots - even wellies, they either won't fit or they're round my ankles like Nora Batty's tights.

Any suggestions from others who are perhaps circumferance challenged in the calf area?

Equitector's are brilliant! They do a wide fit and they have elastic down the back for that extra bit of "give".

(They have some sort of padding in the foot too, which makes them the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn from day 1!)

Agree....the Equitectors are good for the 'fuller calf'

Only comment i would make about mine is that they have started falling apart after only 12 months (not excessive) use

The zips haven't been great, and where the elastic and leather have been stitched together, they have now worn through

Send them back! Doesn't sound right!

I've had mine for 18months, and they're good as new!

I was less keen on them for the show ring anyway, so have replaced them with Ariat Crown Pro gaiters and Devon (?) boots. The Equitectors are just there for lessons now lol!

Muck Boots are great for larger calves. Top part is made of neoprene so really stretchy but still waterproof.

Mountain Horse are really good, I needed them when I stopped working with horses and sat in an office eating cake!

I have gone back to working with horses again now so will be able to buy a pair of Konigs soon if I work hard enough!

That is the downside of a misspent (sporting) youth, I used to dance and be a sprinter..even at a size 10 I couldn't get long boots to fit over my calves..and these days there is no hope at all -although can confirm both Muckboots and Equitectors fit the chunkiest of calves

Bloody hell that's bad......mine got nicked so was about to order a new pair!

Mountain Horse boots are good - I have both the High Riders for everyday and the Sportive for competitions. Very soft & comfortable and the Sportives are smart enough for competitions.
The Sportive zip needed replacing after about a year but didn't cost much to get it done at local cobbler.
