Hi there,

For a while now I have been on the hunt for some nice long boots. Originally I wanted the ariat grasmere boots but when I tried them on the other week I found they were way too long for me. I also have some leather long boots which I barely wear as when riding I find it hard to bend my leg in them.

I am 5'4" so I was wondering if there are any decent long boots out there that are specifically made for the shorter rider?

I have this problem too, kids sizes would be ok lengthwise, but you need match stick calfs!! I haven't found any nice long boots with zips that come in the right length off the shelf.

I have ended up sticking with gaiters, tredstone do a nice leather gaiter in all different sizes.

I suffer from the same problem! Equitector make boots in all shapes and sizes which will help you get a pair to ride in but otherwise I think you'll struggle (or you could buy a pair of heel lifts from mountain horse which will give you an extra inch or so.....)

I have the same problem but at 5'1'' and a bit am even shorter, lol. You could try getting a pair, breaking them in then have them shortened if they don't fit. I recently bought a pair of Regents, can't remember what type but they're pull on boots with garter straps. They are a bit long but I've been breaking them in for a few months and until they drop properly won't be able to tell if they fit properly. If not I may get them shortened slightly.

Thanks everyone, guess I shall keep looking then and if I do find anything I'll be sure to post about them

I'm only just scraping 5ft & a size 2 foot!

I buy Treadstone Junior long leather boots. They're about £75.00.

They're really comfy & I really like them but you might struggle with the calf width, you'd have to try a pair on. They go upto about a size 4/5 I think.

Maybe we should all start a shop supplying stuff for the petite adult rider!

hi,
i am 5ft 3 and bought some ariat bromont h20 long boots and they are a little long at the moment but leather boots should drop a cm or so after a few weeks of wear. the boots are really comfy and soft too. i tried some mountain horse high riders on and they were way too long and really baggy! x

I'm 5'2 and I also bought a pair of Regent long boots. They were a little long at first but now, after about 2 months they are fab and very comfy!

I had some Tuffa Norfolk boots - I have small feet and short, fat legs but these fitted really nicely.

The Regent Graftons are too long for me (even my mum's well broken in ones). I'm 5ft3 with a long body and short, medium-wide legs. Eventually I found some nearly new second hand ones that fit me like a glove - phew! I don't know where 'll find the next pair from though.

I bought the Mountain Horse Richmond I think they are called, the ones with laces in, they come in short leg fittings & different calf sizes, they fit perfectly & are really comfy, I am 5'1" by the way.
