Long boots - how much do they drop

As title really, just wanted to know how much in cm's have your boots dropped from when they were new (esp mountain horse boots). I'm going away riding for a few days soon and need new boots but the made to measure ones i would like wouldnt be ready and broken in, in time so an looking at some mountain horse richmond high riders. The short one are still slightly too long, but was hoping that they would drop enough if i wore them constantly for a week, plus the use of heel lifts. Thanks in advance.

My mountain horse boots dropped at least 4 centimeters! though that may have been because they were far too wide

I say that because my Brogini boots, which fit very snuggly (ie, they actually do fit!) have dropped 1cm if I'm lucky...
