I have had 2 pairs of the dublin river talls in 1 year... they fall apart

So I want to try another type of boot;

They have to be smart, comfortable, warm and a reasonable price.

For use at competitions and grooming (not everyday of the week)

any suggestions??

Toggi Canyon. Worn mine just about every day about 3/4 hrs a day since Sept and the insides are worn, but the outside is as good as new!

I bought Welligogs at Badminton (2 pairs in fact!) and they are ace - waterproof, comfy, cool in heat and warm in cold, great quality. I'd defo recommend.

Saw some Ariat 'Dubarry like' boots at Herts County yesterday and was very tempted. Sorry I don't know what their name was, but they were £125 at the show

Ariat have the grasmere boots (lace up side) and the conistons (lace up front) they are both around £200 mark generally but will last and last much like dubarry's. Going to whisper the next part so eyes away please to anyone I might offend (totally unintentionally) - I give a pair of Ariat's away each month and I next draw for them wednesday night ... i love the conistons but winner's choice :)

Is it just me who has Dublin rivers that have lasted?! :D Wear them pretty much every day to ride, muck out, groom at competitions etc and my current pair have lasted 18 months (and i don't look after them very well either :o )

thanks everyone

I will take a trip to the tack shop (will persuade the BFto take me :P)

will try on the toggi's and ariats.. I tried the rydale ones aswell and they didnt fit; have funny feet and legs!!! I absolutely love the conistons, and ariats normally fit... but will have to save up for them!!

When I decide the ones I want I will order them online as they are normally cheaper...

MOLLYA, you are very lucky yours have lasted.. I shall not be buying another pair!

Ariat new boot is called windermere. rrp is around 120 mark. It is not gortex like the grassmere or coniston but it is a cheaper less known version of gortex (hence lower price)

I have a pair of dubarry galways and wear them every day. they are 2years old and have had no problem with them. I have only ridden in them bout half dozen times though as seam on inside wear boot and saddle

One of our grooms has grassmeres and she loves them. had 2 pairs in 5 years

My rivers have lasted at the moment since september. Worn every day. So comfy and lasting well - Not treated well at all. i have rydales for best boots and they are nice but not as comfy.

My Rydales are very comfortable but despite being very well cared for they are not lasting well, I will have to replace them before winter:mad:
