I have had my long boots for 3 years now and at first they were fine but then when the bent at the ankle they bent inward rubbing my ankle because of this I stopped using them. Now horse is going showing again so need them back out but don't want to face the constant pain

Is there a way to fix this or do I need to buy new long boots

You could try some heel wedges, they should raise your ankle sufficiently to stop the crease of your boot rubbing while not altering the look of them. It would be cheaper to try them first than buy new boots anyway!

If you are really stuck, tape up your ankle with Compeed and/or a few layers of Elastoplast before you put them on. Do it before they get sore.

I've had this, a right pain. After much faff I did the following, you need something to stuff out the crease (is it on one side or both?). I used a drawer knob held by hand and a rolling pin at an angle. Might have to do a bit at a time. Coat the creasing with nikwax. Force the crease into a more acceptable shape and then blast it with a hair dryer on high. It creates less sagginess.
It is a real faff, but cheaper than new boots. I can only assume it causes the oil to be drawn into the leather and plumps it up.
The other option is to stick some stiffener on the inside but this can create it's own rubbing issue.
