Long boots & skinny legs!

I gave up years ago to thing long boots to fit my legs Im a size 6 with matchstick legs. Was told the only way I would get boots to fit would be to have them made to measure :( well way out of my price range unless I win the lottery :D

Oh no :( So we are destined for a life of short boots and chaps?! great!

Ohh I'm glad it's not just me lol!
I have skinny legs and am a size 6/7, and have tried pretty much every tall boot under the sun.. turns out my stupid legs only fit in short boots and gaitors

I'm in the same boat as you! Size 7, sometimes an 8, skinny calves, boots and gaiters/chaps for me...even then my last pair of gaiters were too wide as I like the leg lenth long otherwise they look like they cut my lower leg in half! :D

I'm tall (5ft8)with long thin calves, they measure about 12 inches in diameter! I'm the original stick woman!

Anyway, I found these:

£150... wow I love them, the best horse based product I have ever bought, they needed no breaking in, they look smart, I ride in them every day and they still look brand new. The only issue I have had is mounting 16hh+ horses from the ground as they don't give you loads of grip in the stirrup like that but seeing as I have had that issue once in 6 months it's no biggie (and I mounted from the ground four times that day and it ony happened the one time).

Best thing I have ever bought! :D

Thanks for replies everyone!

Just measured my legs ...

Around widest part of my calf muscle: 15 inches / 38cm

Outside leg, from just below ankle to just below knee: 19 inches / 48cm

Gina2201 - Glad it's not only me! I look like i'm wearing children's chaps they're so short!

Candle515 - Stats above :D:D:D:D

Dizzle - Thanks :D will have a look at them now :D

ooooohhhhhh thst site ^^ has my exact measurements :D takes a while to deliver tho?? 4-6 weeks ?! better order them now then!! ;);):p:D

Same here but i've managed to find some nice leather ariats that fit and didn't break the bank, although I have to lace my grasmere's as tight as they'll possibly go! :D

Brogini!! :D Mine were £150, and I really do have skinny legs (my first long boots, MH ones, I could zip up with my arm and leg inside :p) and they do different widths. Brilliant quality too - I've had mine at least a year, and worn them every day, summer and winter (even through lots of mud!) and they still look brilliant :D

Sergio Grasso are the only boots I found to fit me, a person on the stall at Burghley where I bought them said they are the narrowest brand available so if they don't fit it's made to measure.

I do have some Ariat gaiters that just about fit but I desperately wanted long boots!

I have size 6 feet and really skinny long legs too and I've got Shires Norfolk Long Boots - they do an xxs width which is about 33cm I think - perfect for me and not too expensive either (I think mine were about 140 euro).

Rectilignes - very narrow on the calf but nice and long in the leg. About £200 but would say they are too posh for anything other than competitions. For day to day riding I use Toggi's - about £80 a pair. Really comfy and hard wearing.

I sympathise totally!!! If one more person says i am lucky to have skinny legs i will bash them with a long boot!!! I find mountain horse sportive are pretty slim, i also have a pair of shires long boots and they are a perfect fit. If only they did skinny wellies!!!

Ohh!! Why hadn't I known about these boots you've all mentioned before I bought my short boots and gaitors!! :(

Thanks for more replies! All very useful and will be looking into all suggestions :)

I've found wellies that fit perfectly! Not cheap though but worth every penny :) The Ladies version of these ...

Obviously you can get ladies cut in every style. So warm too :D

I also have 7 feet but my legs are too big

You've got to wonder where the boot makers come up with the width fittings, we've got all these people on here with skinny legs that the majority of boots are too wide for and then you have people like me who have chubby calves and everything is too narrow for :)
I've ended up with a pair of muck boots for getting muddy as they're neoprene and stretch, horse is retired so don't have to worry about that!!!

Some good ideas here for show boots, but if you are looking for cheaper 'everyday' boots then HKM are really good, the widest part of my calves is 12" and they are a nice snug fit :)

Recommend
MH Supreme - for comp
Tuffa Derby - for everyday
Tredstep Donatello - for comp
We sell all 3 of these & have never not been able to fit the slenderest calf!
