I'm looking to get some long boots, ive been riding in my muckers and wellies for well probably all the time ive ridden so i want to invest in some long boots, but i use the word invest lightly, im on a pretty tight budget and preferably from somewhere with free p&p (okay pushing it i know but i thought id try)

I know i can get some stuf from robinsons, p&p is £5 i was looking at muckruckers, theres like cheap rubber boots aswell but i dont want to like suck my feet into shaped wellies, also i might have wide feet? But i dunno just wanted to see what you guys suggest.
Is it true its easier to keep your heel down in long boots?

Thanks for the help

I got some long boots in leather, made by Gallop, they look a bit like the mountain horse ones with the Zip up the back - they were only about £60, they look really smart too.

A lot of people cheat and put wedges in their heels of their long boots and any boot will shape over time (The toes all turn up on mine)

Being a bloke, I like more macho looking boots. I have bought four pairs of Mountain Horse boots from Ebay (not all at the same time of course!). Three pairs of High Riders and a pair of Sportives. Two pairs were all but brand new, with labels still attached, the Sportives are used but only lightly, and my first pair were slightly (now VERY) used, with a scratch or two. I am a typical bloke size 8 and the most I have paid for any of the boots was just over £60.

My wife has some High Riders, but her current favourites are Ariats (I'd tell you the model, but I've just been shhhht at!) Oh, wait...they are Glacier Tall. Again all Ebay bargains.

Hiya, i must admit that after riding in both my mountain horse sport jodhpur boots and sportive high rider long boots i find it hard to ride in anything else these days! I recently got a pair of Mark Todd Cook winter tall boots as i find it hard to ride in the muckers i wear during winter and i'm totally impressed with them. Originally i wanted the rimfrost boots from Mountain Horse but everyone seems to have them and when i saw the Mark Todd ones i thought i'd try them. They are brilliant and not too expensive either. I got mine from www.equestrianclearance.co.uk for £57.99 with postage and packaging at £6. The only thing with them is that they only come in a normal calf fitting so if you have anything more than slim calves they'll probably be too tight
