I'm looking for a pair of long riding boots to school and compete in they will be used about 5 times a week for about an hour plus competing, I have a budget of £150. Must be leather after my synthetic ones fell apart after a few months, I have big feet and skinny legs! Size 7/7.5 I don't know my calf measurement only that they are small.

I like the look of broginis but no tack shops near me do them and I'd rather try on first but if they are nice a trip to a bigger tack shop about an hour away may be needed!

Just got my son mark Todd brown leather boots, with zip up the back, they were only ones I found to fit his big feet!!! They are lovely boots, and clean up lovely. He said comfy too.

Hmm.. The boots I have experience with: Shires Norfolk boots are within you budget and do come in different calf widths and heights. The Donatello field boots are more expensive (around £200 I think) but do look very smart, they also come in a wide range of sizes. Otherwise keep and eye out on ebay or the equivalent for Ariat Bromonts. I got my brand new Bromonts (RRP £250) for about £170ish I think. I don't know if it is an option, but could you try the short boots and gaiters rout? I would suggest going into a tack shop with a good range of boots and seeing which ones work. Good luck hunting!
