I'm looking for some new long boots, and as of now I've never bought any boots other than Ariat, but even the slim is now too wide in the calf for me :( I was looking at some by Tredstep, as they come in an extra slim, but is the quality as good as ariat? They will be worn everyday so need to hold up well!

I've got Tredstep Donatello's and I love them. Never had Ariats so can't comment on quality by comparison, but I like my boots a lot. I think I read some negative reviews somewhere but I think they're lovely boots personally. Mine are worn almost every day.

Watching this with interest since its always a right pain when I need new boots. I have slim calves and it seems the 'regular' and 'slim' fitting boots have got wider over the years. I re-bought a pair of boots after the pair I had had wore out after a few years to find they had made the same size calf wider. Never tried Tredstep and disappointed to see Ariat may have made their calves wider now, I was about to invest in a pair, will have to check their measurements.

I have the same problem as you & just taken a punt & ordered some nice looking premier equine long boots - seem to have good reviews! Will keep you posted when they arrive.

I bought Tredstep Donatello boots. I don't think the leather quality is as good as Ariat, but I'm more than happy with the shape and fit.

This, I don't wear my Donatellos everyday, but they're fab boots!

I've always struggled with calf fit but bought a pair of Brogini (sp?) a few years ago, they're good every day boots but i only wear them in summer and only for riding, they're holding up well

I've had Ariats and they looked very rough after very little use, and were only fit for the bin after 2 years (horse was off games for at least 6 months of these 2 years too!). The Ariat short & slim calf is/was the only one on the market that fitted me (and was slightly too wide and too long still) so if they've changed the measurements then I'm screwed :(. Can't justify a pair of M2M Celeris ones right now.
