Hi all,

I am finally giving up on my Treadstone long brown boots (with the lace up sides if anyone else has them - see here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250606852009 and in my siggy to see what they look like). I love them to bits, but unfortunately the zip and the soles are not of the same quality as the lovely leather, and after a number of repairs, are coming to bits.

So I am asking for recommendations of other boots - preferably brown and quite elegant looking - not so much a mountain horse type everyday boot if you know what I mean, more something you could wear in the show ring if pressed, without going as far as a dressage boot (in fact, just like my old treadstones!).

Any ideas? Cookies all round :)

I second Ariat Bromonts - look very smart (I hunt in mine), very comfy and less than £200. I polish them with the gunk stuff that you see at Badminton (can't remember the name, but the stuff they're always offering to polish your boots with) and they come up like new every time.

I simply adore my Ariat Bromonts (black, though, not brown). They are comfortable from new, scrub up well and immediately put my lower leg into better position. What more could you ask??!

I think reason might be leaving me....just saw the De Niro Oxford Cesare boot and think I might be in love...... anyone know if any other retailers stock them in the oxford brown, can only seem to find black on other sites to compare price.....

the HKMs on the Dogwood of London page look rather nice too and quite reasonable. Perhaps I do want a dressagey looking boot after all!
