I've finally given in seeing as this rain is not letting up..

I need a long coat/jacket (needs to be at least knee length) for when I check horses and I will be in 'normal' clothes and cannot come away muddy/wet.

Anyone have any recommendations? It would be nice if it was smart enough to pull off as a normal coat on days I am lacking in time etc.

I've been searching for a decent long coat for a while now as I find them very useful. I have had two that are sadly reaching the end of their lives, but they have served me well for many years. However both the Musto Suffolk and the long Mark Todd coat aren't made anymore. :(

I've looked at the Jack Murphy Malvern (not tailored and very light material) and the Target Dry Outback (had better reviews but looks very similar to the Malvern) and I am faffing. Neither are as good as the Musto, so I'm going to try reproofing it one last time (fingers crossed).

There are lots of good wax coats, but I had wanted something not too heavy.

I remembered something that was posted on here a while ago, but I've had a Google but can't find what I'm after. :(

If someone can remember which company makes attractive tailored ladies long wax coats (almost Victorian/gothic style with fitted waists and then fuller 'skirts' - for want of a better term), could they please post a link? Thank you. :)

I have a Jack Murphy long coat which is great. They have a lot of the wax jackets too so ignore those. Worth a browse of their catalogue. Not for riding in though.

This is the issue. I need to be able to ride in mine. One review of the Malvern said that it 'bellows up' when you canter. I don't think that would be wise to have happen, especially when I'm riding a green horse.
