Helloo

This is a post on behalf of my brother he would very much like to get into long distance riding, not endurance more like equine rambling! He'd really like to join a club andcwe thought he'd found one but they never got back to him?!?

Any info/ideas gratefully received.

Thankies x

I've never heard of a 'rambling' society for horses but those I know of are:
EGB - tends to be the more competitive end of the endurance scene (including international teams etc) but also have local groups which organise all kinds of ride from 8 mile pleasure rides up:

Sport Endurance - Doesn't cover all the of the UK but does have a more 'pleasure ride' approach and is less competitive than EGB:

Long Rider's Guild - Are more for people who go off on their own for long treks over several days weeks or months:

Thanks Trojan pony, think the long riders guild is the sort of thing he's looking for! He's thinking of doing his first 2 day long ride with his mare in the summer in aid of the RDA as that's where his mare came from!

Try searching for website, think it's called 'ride open spaces'. Harry & Lisa Adshead rode 600 miles from Wales to Jordan entirely self-supported on their 2 arabs with an arab/welsh packhorse. Anything he wants to know they would be a great place to start. Fabulous photos of them on the website.

Brill thanks I'll get him to do a search! Does anyone know if there is such thing as an equine ramblers group? A group of people who meet up to cover a planned distance/route as a social horsey experience?
