Long girth recommendations

Looking for long girth recommendations and getting lost in the choices! Also trying to keep my spending under £100!

Has anyone used either the horsemanship saddlery freestride or the evo equine enduro?

Both look decent but photos on both websites aren't great. The horsemanship saddlery one looks more anatomical but it's that a good thing these days?

I need something that goes to a 56" which my first option, the shires velocity does not.

I use the Shires contour anti-chafe girth for my fussy pony (had previously used a Prolite among other anatomical girths). Pony is v.happy in it & it goes up to 56'.

What are your parameters? Where is the girth groove, which girth straps do you use? Big belly? Have you asked your saddle fitter, I often find if my customers go off and get a girth different o the on we used at a fitting it can cause issues and be a waste of money.

My two recommended lower priced girths would be Stubben cord, and Harry Dabbs synthetic, I'd generally recommend elastic both ends but again that may not be suitable for the way your saddle is fitted. Both have a good long split between the buckles, important if your girth straps are wide apart. The Stubben can be too wide for immediately adjacent girth straps.

I have started using the Elico memory foam girths on my three youngsters. I love the roller buckles which make it easier to do the girth up in the saddle for stiff cold fingers.

I also have this girth for my girl. She always seemed happy in it but I tried to change it as the elastic is pretty stretchy and everyone said it wasn’t ideal. I swapped it for a nice soft leather one that ended up rubbing so back to her elico.

We fitted the saddle with a long mattes crescent girth but it's really a fraction too short and it's also old and shedding sheepskin in clumps. I already use a mattes crescent on my dressage saddle and would get another long one but they are pricey and I also feel he doesn't need the sheepskin and over summer it might get a bit sweaty.

So slightly forward girth groove, large horse, big shoulders (irish draught type). Mattes girth is on 1st and 3rd straps but they're not miles apart so don't think it's an issue.
