30 May 2009 #2 Tnavas Well-Known Member Joined 1 October 2005 Messages 8,479 Location New Zealand but from UK Visit site On a dressage saddle it's so that you have less bulk under your legs - I have all my saddles changed to long straps as I hate the bulk under the flap. I think with the treeless saddles they only have the one flap so can only have a long strap.
