Hi, does anybody know where i can get some from? Ive searched and cant seem to find any only rubber ones and really want to get leather for xmas ideally with a zip down the back.
Thanks:)

I will be interested as I am also looking! So far had had to go for short boots and leather gaiters, have been trying to find long leather boots for a couple of years....she is a size 3 or 4 but extremely skinny so adults size legs won't do!

Boots and gaiters are a good option in cases like this- my little sister, when actually little, had super skinny legs and so ended up in boots and properly fitted gaiters. She's 18 now, and still uses boots and gaiters because they just suit her legs better and you can't tell at all :D The kids at camp use them too mostly as they're easier to take off/ put on at the last second for maximum cleanliness!

I think Ariat are good though for whatever you want. They really do look fantastic.

I know ive been on the search for a while too. My friend had some for her daughter but they dont make them anymore. I think ariat do some but will wait till shes stopped growing to buy ariats new for her!!!;)

Am just interested as to why you want long leather boots for a child ?

Safer for XC, but meant we could trash our chaps without having to spend hours scrubbing at them before a show!

Plus, child might want them :) Bit of a treat!

Can see the XC, but surely wouldn't be correct for shows?

Only showing and she doesnt really do that anymore, she always wears half chaps for showjumping, XC and dressage anyway.
She really wants a pair for xmas and id far rather buy something she will use than something thats going to sit in a box in her bedroom after the initial week of playing with it.

Derby house do home brand boots in a ladies size 3, & mountain horse too. Can't remember prices exactly but I'm sure only in the 150- 200 range. Pw.

We looked at long boots for my 10 yr old for show jumping but because she's a size 4 they were all too long in the leg or too wide...she's a skinny minnie!

We opted for short boots and leather gaiters.

She now prefers the gaiters cos they are comfy and she can feel the horse under her leg (but still protected) and I prefer them cos I just need to replace boots as she grows not the gaiters.

Goodness - children seem to want and they get.

It is incorrect for children to wear long boots. I know it is done and I do not blame any child for wearing long rubber boots if out hunting.

Other than that, short boots and chaps for day to day riding. Why waste money on boots that they would outgrow in no time?

Mountain horse do child sizes in their boots. Some styles are very much casual everyday boots but they do smart styles too.

Same reason she really wants some, she does a lot of showing so obviously I am aware they are not correct for this, she has her oxblood short boots for that purpose but also does hunt and competes jumping and dressage and would like some for this as she is currently weraring short boots and gaiters for these, all the kids wear them or long boots for this. They would be for that and day to day riding.
As for children seeming to 'want and they get' as Foxhunter put it I actually think its a very sensible present to ask for Christmas, compared to most toys and gadgets kids usually want.

My daughter is now 13 and has competed in long boots since she was 10. Largely becuase we could not get leather gaiters small enough to fit. She also hunts in long boots - although that is largely for warmth. There is nothing unusual about wanting long boots!

We hunt in Mountain Horse Rimfrost riders - they do all sizes from size 2. But once you get to size 4 they do come up a bit on the back of the legs. I think Moutain horse also do thier competition boots from size 2. We certainly had a pair of high riders at one point.

For pure competition we have a pair of boots I bought from Equestrian Clearence at YHL last year. They had a batch marked with the wrong sizes and we got them for £20. I was so delighted with them I bought a pair to fit and the next size up so we're still in them. But I'm afraid I have no idea what make they are!

There are long boots for children out there. We have more trouble fidning leather gaiters that fit a child than finding long boots. And don't let people put you off!

Thanks for all the suggestions will have a look to see if any are suitable for her. :)

As for the person said about what children get what they want. Its for xmas what should i buy her stuff she doesnt want? Shes not a brat by anymeans and has actually put very little on her xmas list that i asked her to write one of the things shes written is shaving for her pony so mummy can use her money to buy herself a treat!!!

I happen to think they look smart i wasnt asking opinions on whether she should have them quite frankly its none of your buisness. I was asking other people if they knew of any.
