I am looking to buy a pair of long leather competition boots for this season but have slim calves and the ones I have tried so far are far too wide. Can anyone recommend some? thanks!

ditto Vrin, Sarm Hippique, i have the ones with zips up the back and false laces at the front, and they are very slim fitting and very flattering, lovely boots. hard-wearing too, but not waterproof at the front unfortunately... i keep forgetting i'm not wearing my grasmeres, hosing them off, and getting wet feet!
the zips do come down a bit after a while though.

Hi,

I had the same problem as you and it took me ages to find some that fitted, one well know saddlery shop actually told me that I should just wear a pair of really thick socks to make my legs wider..... I ended up getting a pair of Soubirac boots and they are soooo comfy and fit perfectly. Hope you find some.

I have had my boots for a while but only just discovered today they are not waterproof at the front - XC schooling through water... was a little 'damp' ...

I love my Sergio Grasso boots, I tried the Sarn Hippique but my calves were too skinny for the models they had. The SG ones are beautifully soft and felt comfortable from day one, they felt no different to riding in joddy boots and half chaps.

Brogini! They are lovely slim Italian boots - and they have remembered (sp?) to make the ankle slimmer while they were at it - which I think is a problem with a lot of boots. I have the zipped ones - and love them to bits.

Sarms here too! Maybe the HE fitting...

I compete in my old (but lovely!) 1600s but have just bought a pair of 500s for everyday and have had to go for the normal width - I must've stretched my others a lot!

ETA: My new ones have a clever tab wotsit to hold the zip up - not sure if all models have it now? I wish my old ones did...

i have hd regalis but my ankles and calves were too slim...now onto sergios which are a much better fit

Sergios were the only ones that fit me "off the rack" although even then the stock height was slightly short. Everything else was either way too short or, if close to the right height, way too wide.
