Looking to do a bit of long reining with my Welshie whilst he is waiting for his new saddle. He gets fat and grumpy if he isn’t worked regularly. I had a few long reining lessons last year so not a complete beginner but definitely a novice. Can people recommend any simple exercises I can do at home, ideally incorporating my lovely new poles and jump stands. TIA ?

I used to set up little obstacle courses, like hazards you would find at the roadside, or a zig zag with poles. A box to halt in, a narrow lane of poles that you can go into and reverse out of. If you also go to the side to lunge on 2 reins, a little jump, but defo trot poles.

I have a list of groundwork links I send out to customers, it will include some longlining options but tons of other beneficial work too, if you pm me your email address I can send it to you.
Would you mind sending it to me too please. I PM you. Thanks

Thank you. I already have them as we are actually clients of yours & looking forward to getting a lovely AH saddle fitted. However I hadn’t referred to them so thank you for the reminder, I’ll get them out and have a look. ?
