Long Reining with a roller

I want to long rein my boy using my roller, but it only has 3 rings on it one at the top centre, and then one either side of that. Usually i would do it with his saddle on, but we have problems with his saddle at the moment. What the best way to attach the reins to the roller lower down so theyre in the same position as my legs would be?

Make loops with cable ties further down?

Or take the roller to your local saddler and ask for extra rings to be put on.

Attach the stirrup leathers to the ring and then use it as you would using the saddle.

this is what i'd do and then attatch the stirrups to something to stop them flapping around

Use stirrups and leathers and tie the stirrups to each other under the belly, (a spare stirrup leather is ideal) preferably use a breast plate too so you can pass whatever you tie stirrups together with through the girth loop so they don't move back and forwards.
