I am looking for the above for my 12 yr old son - the problem is that he is an adult size 7, but adult boots are way too wide for his legs.

He wants a zip up ideally, but even the narrow ones are floppy on him….the ideal solution is chaps/short boots but he doesn't like wearing these :( !

Any ideas/recomendations?

Tbh, he will probably grow into them in a couple of months at his age! I bought my 11 year old daughter a long pair of yard boot, every one on the yard was laughing at ow they came up to her knee rather than mid calf. They weren't laughing two months later when they realised they could almost watch her grow! :D They are like puppies, the feet grow first and then everything else catches up.

Is it for showing? If not would boots and chaps, or leather gaiters and boots be better?

ETA just noticed you said he doesn't like them- ignore me!

No - just for general riding, a bit of hunting, and a few local level shows.

I don't want to spend a fortune and atm he hacks out in his dunlop wellies! Not ideal but easily replaceable as he grows.
