I found all of mountain horse boots fit my feet, I’ve got bunions on both feet so boots need to be wide .. they used to do different heights and width calves so might be worth a google

I thought they would have a size to fit me but all the smart boots are too long. Unless I missed one / some.

I looked at Mountain Horse boots again. Has anyone any experience of the fit of the Sovereign?
Width of foot and amount they drop? The short regular are 43cm / 36-39cm.

Just looked at them , can’t believe how much they are. You could always contact the retailer and ask them to measure the bottom to give you an idea . I can’t remember which ones I had but it wasn’t these

Try De Nero’s, I have short legs, slim calves and wide feet and they are very comfortable. My son also has very slim calves and very wide feet and he says they are the most comfortable boots he has worn. I think it is because the leather is so soft and so gives and doesn’t pinch. They also have removable insoles that can be taken out when they are new until they are worn in.
I bought these because I have exactly the same problem …size 6 , wide feet and short legs . There is a subtle elastic panel next to the zip that makes them fit really nicely without cutting off the circulation in your leg. Eye wateringly expensive but they look gorgeous .. Hey, I even think they make me ride better !!😊

I have the children’s Luxus (standard height) in a 4. I was amazed they fit as I have wide size 5 feet (and skinny calves). So you might be a 5.
I get that they aren’t shiny but you could put on scuff guard.

I will caveat that they aren’t the most durable and I’ve replaced a zip. The garter straps are elastic which have gone baggy.

Am happy to send you photos of the boots and/or my skinny legs and wide feet if it helps!

A few years ago I tried equitector and they were too narrow.
I tried Tuffa which didn’t fit either.

Try Shires. They have lots of different styles and width fittings and are surprisingly reasonable. I have wide feet (and calves) and they're great in the foot for me. I have the wide calf but they do a narrow in the style I have too (the Gianna Moretta or something like that). The only thing I'm not sure of is whether the foot gets narrower if the calf does. I have room in mine for a heel raiser too though (not because of length but because I have plantar fasciitis) even with a wide foot.

The size guide is here so you can see which ones might suit. https://shop.shiresequestrian.com/rider-size-guides

ETA - just had a look and they don't do a short/slim but the regular is 42 height / 35-37.5cm width so you might get away with the short/regular in the Gianna?

I measure 39 cm in real life and the De Niro boots I bought were 41 cm and fit really well (and are very shiny)

When I looked at Shires boots there was nothing measuring that low but I think they had a new style coming in with a short length ?

I have these at the moment - well, I did before the zip broke after 5 years! Pretty good value for money, I've worn them most days. I measure 36cms around the calf and I had the Regular Narrow boot - they were slightly too narrow and I could *just* do them up (probably why the zip finally broke!). The foot bed isn't particularly wide imo. I'm a size 4/4.5 and the size 5 was a good fit, wouldn't want them any smaller.

After spending 2 afternoons searching the web and phoning boot companies I have accumulated a wealth of jumbled information.

AB Leather have not replied.
Tuffa say their boots will be wide enough in the foot and will make a pair to measure for about £450. Measurements can be sent or you can go to the factory.
Toggi are too narrow.
Dublin are too narrow.
De Niro made to measure or possibly in stock but not sure about foot bed width. They will measure you at a few big shows or in Dorset.
Shires Gianna I bought these and they were too long in the leg and too narrow in the foot. A shorter boot is now made but I expect the foot width with be the same.
Rhinegold Luxus Short. These should be OK but they weren’t completely sure about foot width. Willing to send boots to try but will cost postage. Oiled leather and I really wanted shiny.
Mountain Horse now do more in their child’s size range. I may fit either largest child’s or smallest adults.

Decision..
I am going to try the Mountain Horse tomorrow. The place is over 1 hour away but I thought it best to see for myself.
If that fails I think I will order some Luxus.

Hi there , I ordered the Rhinegold Luxus leather short boot before I bought mine and was really disappointed with the quality … it was like synthetic leather and I sent them straight back

Yes, it was really frustrating .. I always wore the Shires Norfolk boot and they stopped making it . All the boots in the shops were too tall and cut into the back of my knee . In the end I got measured at Equiport and ended up with de Niro boots …

I am fed up with having country style boots. I wanted smarter ones. It is so annoying. I seem to be too big for most children’s and too short for adult’s.
De Niro were helpful but so so far away. The shows are miles from me too. They would send boots out but at the moment only have super expensive or blue ( ? ) ones in a size that MIGHT fit me.
Off to the nearest place I could find that has stock that might fit and at least may give me a guide for sizing.
more than 1 hour drive each way.

I'm saving up for a pair of DeNiros. In the meantime, my decathlon jodhpur boots do the job ok
