Now i'm getting into showjumping the time has come to buy some decent long riding boots but I am having a nightmare.

I love the ariat long boots but they do not offer different length sizes and my legs are far too short.

I know Mountain Horse offer different leg lengths but so far I havent found any i like as much as the ariat ones.

Maybe i need to travel somewhere where there is more of a choice as none of the tackshops near me have a great range.

I dont want to pay anymore than £200 really.

does anyone think its worth getting the ariats and having them altered? has anybody done this??

or should i just stop moaning and get Mountain Horse ones??? hehe

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

I'm 5'1 and have a pair of regent boots which are the perfect length for me. You should be able to pick up a pair within your budget easily. I've had mine for about 11 yrs and they are lovely and supple and polish up beautifully for competing.
Don't forget that when they're new they will be stiff and so you need to go for a pair that feel a little bit long as they will relax and drop once they've worn in ( to allow for your heels bing down when riding!)

Ariat DOES make different leg length but unfortunately, the size selection available in the UK is rubbish. I need talls but all the seem to stock is the medium lengths. Ariat does do short lengths.

I've gotten my tall length Ariats form the US Ebay and I have seen short length riding boots up for auction on there as well. I would try the US ebay to be honest and bid for some short length ones.

If you go on the ariat website you can get a list of their stockists in america and uk as well as a list of all catalogues that stock their ranges. Incidentally I am looking in the Rideaway catalogue for ariat boots myself and they have long boots. Dont forget they will drop at least 2cm when they wear in : )
