Long rubber boots for short lower leg with wide calves???

I used to wear Aigles as they made them in short extra wide fittings. Havent worn them for years though - arent chaps and short boots more comfortable?

I've got a nice pair of leather ones for riding in (bought second had off eBay a couple of years ago and which fit great), but want a rubber pair for traipsing through the mud in winter, for mucking out in and for muddy walks with the dogs. Definitely find rubber easiest to keep clean. Anything else just ends up stinking of pee. Problem is I've a small foot (size 4), a very short lower leg and a muscly (sp?) calf. It's a pain in the neck finding anything to fit, especially if you intent to wear them with your jeans tucked into them.

It's a pair of those that I need to replace. They fitted okay but haven't worn well. The lining at the back of the heel has worn away and rubs dreadfully; Even with several blister plasters in place before wearing them. I only bought them last winter and I haven't worn them to death or anything. Just wondered if there were any alternatives to me buying another pair?

I need something 100% waterproof for field and yard work.

ahhh right........as long as you dont go out in pubic in them!

I have some awesome Toggi wellies that do the job that you want them for.....adjustable calf and super warm.

Are you sure i cant put you off rubber riding boots?!

Toggies? I'll take a look. Thanks. Not bothered if they're riding boot style or not, but I don't want those wellies which only come 3/4 way up the calf. They're useless in the winter, keeping the horse mud-splats off my jeans!
