I had a book when I was younger and living in the States. It was written by a well renowned vet over there. The cover was dark grey with a large Tb type horse on the front, face on. (I believe)

The book was general horse knowledge interspersed with stories from the author's experiences as a vet.

Anyone know of it?

I know, I know....long shot.

In a desperate attempt to become a less feeble rider, I have enough horsey books to open a bookshop. I'm sure I've got one that sounds a little like that...will check but won't have time til Weds. x

That would be great if you could!

I loved it when I was younger, it'd be interesting to read it again.

I can remember some of the stories in it.

I read this book about 10 years ago I think so I hope I remember it correctly.

He was an equine vet who knew all his clients very well and told stories about his experiences with them. One I *think* was a mare who had lacerated an artery. Another was a girl who was double barreled in the face. (she lived)

That doesn't make it sound very pleasant, but it was an interesting book.
