I think i've broken mine and had i known it was going to break anyway i would have put a bigger rug in there and maybe a couple of saddle cloths too. Does anyone know the best way to remove what i assume is horse hair from where ever it gets stuck? My mum is going to kill me when she gets home

Also how do you wash your travel boots? That's not whats in there at the mo btw it's just 2 tail bandages and an amigo skrim

Right, if it is the filter that got stuffed with hair, follow the instructions below:

Facing your machine, look at the bottom right (usually) corner of it's face, there should be a little door type thingy - open that, remove filter, wash it out and put back in place.
The washer has to be switched off and emptied of water.

Yeah I agree entirely with all that as I clog my filter up with hair from time to time ( much to the annoyance of other half lol). Just make sure when you release the cap for the filter ( mine is a screw type, probably most the same would have thought) that you have something there pronto to catch the water. If you need something slim then try baking trays as they should slide underneath the cap so you catch the water. Tip is to release slowly and control it as it can gush believe me lol. Like Martlin said washer will need emptying and if you can take out some of the water by scooping it out of the washer drum ( if door will open) then it will help as it sometimes takes ages to drain out of the filter area as you have to control it well. I take mine to the launderette, I just wait until it's quiet, then sneak two 7'3 stable rugs in, £4, lot's of stain remover powder and wash powder, job done! Then walk away quickly!

I soak my travel boots in the bath

I put some washing liquid in luke warm water, soak them for a couple of hours and then give them a scrub with a brush, I then put them through a rinse cycle 2 at a time in the washing machine. I tried washing them in the machine but they didn't come up very well.
Oh - and yes I do scrub the bath afterwards
