cant afford to buy a box so was thinking of hiring one
any idea how much this would be and where to go to get one
one of those small ones would do as long as it carries a 16.2 those that look like a transit type cant think what they are called!!
looking at 6,9 or 12 months lease/hire

Well to hire one for a day costs about £100, so I'd hate to think what a year's hire would cost... Nor have I heard of anywhere that does this. I have seen companies that do finance though, so perhaps that would be your best option...?

same as what puppy says - you might find that the montly cost of having one on finance would be cheaper than the hire cost (eg, you can hire a box here for £100 a day, the owner has it on finance for a few hundred a month!).

Try atacanter. Their weekend daily rate is £125, but for two weekend days it's £240, for a whole week it's £500 so for a month may well be less than you might think. Still a very expensive way of going about it unless you are using the box every day!

they are out there and the longer you have the cheaper it is
as far as i know
less hassle as they maintain and insure also

Yes, but at the end of it you have nothing to show for it. At least if you get something on finance rather than hiring, then you have something to sell - albeit you'll have paid more than if you had bought it outright.

Find someone who rarely uses their's and do a deal. My horse is on 6 week's box rest, so my friend has full time use of mine. I'd rather it was being used than standing idle as that kills lorries.
