There is too much choice out there and most of the options are too long!

I would like something that is:
- waterproof (but doesn’t make my feet sweat buckets);
- has a leather outer;
- is comfortable enough to let me walk out hacking with small people;
- Has a smooth sole and heel so I can ride in them
- allows for short legs (if the measurement under my knee is 38cm then I am guessing boot length would need to be 40cm including the sole or less?)

Recommendations of things to look at? Anything gratefully received!

I use Toggi Canyons. I don't know if they count as yard boots but i use them for hacking, yard work and walking if i have to. I have incredibly short legs and they fit me ok. I don't have narrow calves though, i'd imagine if you had very slim calves, they might be too sloppy for you.

I do change into short boots and chaps if I'm schooling or having a lesson though as they are better than the Toggis for giving aids, keeping my heels down etc when I'm riding.
