Longest time to find a horse?

Following on from the knitting thread, I was wondering how long it took people to find the right horse. I've been looking since November for another safe cob to plod around the country lanes so my old boy can retire. It doesn't help that I'm in Cornwall so there isn't much to look at. I have been messed about so much and I'm starting to lose the will to live!

Please give me a glimmer of hope that I will find him in the end.
 
My newest one (allrounder within 3 hours of essex) I was barely looking for a horse, the one before we were looking for about a week before we travelled over to see him (no advanced singles for sale in the UK) :) Theyve both been the first I've looked at though!
 
I thougt there would be loads I would want to go view... I've seen two worth getting out of bed for!
 
My pony was the 24th one I viewed and it took me 16 months to find him! That also includes having had two not pass a stage two vetting!
 
We spent a few months looking for a weight-carrier for a novice, large, rugby-playing OH. We travelled from end to end of the M62 corridor and several miles north and south of it. We saw horses which were mis-described, smaller, finer, more-forward-going than we wanted. Until we heard by word-of-mouth about a Clydesdale mare who was working in a RS but ready for a move. We hacked her home.
 
8 months to find my other horse of a lifetme, 8 long months of boring my husband to death starting every day with " what about this one ?"
spending hours endlessly looking , trying, e mailing, long hours of phone calls , travelling hundreds of miles, been lied to, misled, by private sellers and dealers, seen to small to big to old to young , nutcases, plods but finally i found the perfect one, less than 20 miles away, as honest as the day is long, perfect for me and our family, she was worth every moment of dispair, dissallusion, disappointment , frustration and hours and minutes wasted so keep looking and stick to the things you really want from your new horse, it will all be so worth it, best of luck !
 
Just bought 4 months ago, he was first one I phoned about, next day i tried and took away same day. Only one that caught my eye. All good so far!

I had fairly narrow criteria, pref gelding, age 5-10, under 3k, 15.3 to 16.1 !
 
Started in Novemeber

Failed vetting in the December,

Bought a horse in the Jan, who I then returned for rearing a month later,

Three trips to Ireland, on the second visit one failed a vetting, Bought my (hopefully) superstar on the third visit in May!

Don't give up, I was very nearly ready to.
