I have just found out that I have won two tickets to Hickstead for this Sunday :), however getting there involves a 6 hour round trip. I have never been before and before I use my powers of persuasion on my husband to get him to take me (especially as he is not very horsey!) I just wondered whether it was worth the journey?

There isn't a lot for a non horsey person as it is horses and more horses. On Sunday you should get very good show jumping in the main arena plus the supreme horse and pony and probably some other bits and pieces like scurry driving etc.

The trade stands are what you usually find at any big show but obviously again more horse than at a county show.

There is lots to walk around and look at in the outside rings but just horses so again if not horsey not that much to see or do.

That said take him a good book and sit him in a seat and find him a few hours later. There is plenty of grand stand seating which is not reserved.

We are Wiltshire/Glos edge and go a variety of different ways there though normally do have horsebox. Have recently decided that M4, M25, then down to Brighton the best way though you can go down the A34 and off down the A272 I think it is.
