even under saddle it's huge!!!

He really enjoys using himself doesn't he - fantastic.

And thr rider is lovely to watch as well - his lower leg doesn't shift and so quietly ridden.

Fantrastic jump but looks like there is lots of pressure on the front legs as he lands on a few jumps

Yes, I thought that - he pecked quite badly over one in particular.

He is a gorgeous looking horse - and I may be completely wrong, so please do tell me (or it may be because of the excessive use of slo-mo), but he looks like he isn't the quickest recovery after the jump. Lovely action over the jump but looks laboured after wards. Is this a result of doing excessive loose jumping as a youngster?

The jumps shown under saddle there was only one jump where he was going into a double and I did notice that the video clip was cut before he got to the 2nd part of the double.

But then - what do I know.....

Gree re it being cut before he got to secod part, was my thought to! However, doesnt look as produced as some we have seen appear on youtube. He certainly looks more natural and athletic OVER the fence than others, but anythign with that amount of extravagance is goign to put extra strain on legs etc...same with dressage horses!

My french isn't very good but when he did the showjumping round didn't it say he was only 5?

Stunning horse. Anyone know the breeding? He looks like a Selle Francais to me.

Agree with you HJ - look at how he lands after every fence, he struggles to recover quickly - not good if you are in a tight strided fence or in a jump off.
Just makes me wonder what kind of training he had to encourage him to give a fence that much clearance

Ditto this. Lovely looking horse and makes a nice shape over the fences but teh overjumping does make you wonder and as others have pointed out he does peck on landing a little. I know that there are many five year old classes but IMO Five is very young to be doing too much of this. (but I will stop now before I open up that particular debate

From the Youtube thread:
L'ARC DE TRIOMPHE STALLION BY LANDOR S / PILOT

KyaSunrise (2 days ago)
i think that he's an hannoverian! bye!!!!
JUMPINGSTALLION
NO, he is oldenbourg but his mother line is hannoverian .

I know a stallion called Pilot, he's gorgeous! I'll have to check he's the same guy. My friend knows his owner and her horse shares a field with a mare who has a 2 year old by him, she is an absolute stunner too.

I also used to ride at the KWPN stud in the Netherlands who used the suffix 'S' but that wouldn't make sense, as the above states mother was Hannoverian.
